The Rumba Identity Platform got a small logo. I'm not a pro at this stuff but it's at least what I feel Rumba is about.

Work currently is focused on two areas:

- we are pushing Rumba through the Samba self-test which is a bit infamous
- we are doing virtualized client tests against Windows systems and Linux systems running #himmelblau

A fun thing here: we do test against Windows starting with the Windows 2000 client because we can.

A few weeks ago I mentioned Rumba, my attempt at creating a unified Active Directory and Entra ID and then things got silent.

Well, real life happened. But on the plus side, we got Rumba to the point where we now have a test pipeline pitting every build against the Samba self test and connecting various parts on Linux via #himmelblau and that makes me feel like I can finally whip Rumba into a publishable state.

I wish this would have been a quarter earlier though. 😔

This is was hard one in its own way:

I.e. simple patch but finding exactly correct simple patch of unlimited choices was the sudoku here.

I left out dynamic update as it requires:

1. Detection of "no sessions for user" (probably through loginctl?).
2. Maintaining "no sessions" state while e.g. running recursive chown.

I did not figure this out yet and even if I had it appears to me to be at least complex in size as my initial patch. Since the current returns error on dynamic change, it leaves door open to add a opt-in flag for it later.
