Mexico is on the cusp of full legalization, and CDMX is leading the cultural shift. Small amounts are decriminalized , and the city’s underground cannabis culture pulses alongside progressive pushes for regulation.

From street art in Coyoacán to rooftop mezcal bars, Mexico City is buzzing with green energy.

This is my Mastodon dating post. I will begin with what I want in a partner and/or a friend and then explain a bit about myself. I am also considering this a second #introduction.

For the sake of honesty, Georgiana Brummell is not my legal name, but it is what I use. I live in New Jersey and am forty-two years old. I am seeking a man over sixty who is well-educated, well-dressed (suit/tie), confident, and witty. You need not be rich, but you should appreciate the finer things in life and strive for them when possible. I adore the voices, bodies, experiences, and company of seniors. Since this is clean, I will only say that I have no interest in bdsm or role play, and I prefer things soft below the belt, so do not worry if you're that way. I would prefer you to either live in or near New Jersey or to be able to visit me frequently if you don't, since I am seeking not only physical contact but also the joy of going out and doing things together. No married men (or those in monogamous relationships), one-night stands, parents/caregivers, workaholics, or recreational drug users. I am open to both fun with no strings attached and a committed relationship, but I must get to know you first. For friends, I am a lot more lenient. You can be either a man or a woman, should be over twenty-one, and should share at least some of my interests. You don't have to be single or live in or near New Jersey, though if you do, we could go places together. Please note that I have no understanding of depression, anxiety, mental illness, low self-esteem, etc. I also have no interest in politics or world affairs.

I love wit, wordplay, and dry humour without vulgarity. I enjoy discussing various topics and learning new things. I am happily childfree, am an atheist, speak my mind, and I am against political correctness in speech and writing. I also love cats. I have been totally blind since I was two months old, due to Retinopathy of Prematurity. Some of my interests include studying dandyism, nineteenth-century English grammar, Upper Received Pronunciation, the Italian language, history, the Regency, and opera, particularly singers from prior to the 1950's. I especially love the leggero and lyric tenor voice types. In classical music, I like Baroque through early Romantic. I enjoy coffee, tea, wine, cooking and trying new foods and cuisines, classic literature, nature and historical documentaries, antiques, gardening, hot weather, and playing cards and dice. I prefer antique menswear and accessories (no makeup or feminine clothing).

My Ideal Man
A bit about me, what I am seeking in a man, plus extra commentary on both. All content is clean and suitable for everyone. However, it does contain links to two entries with adult content that may be of interest to potential partners.

My Ideal Man

This is my dating post for the Fediverse. I will start with what I want, in order not to waste anyone's time.

I am seeking a man, preferably over sixty, who dresses well (or at least appreciates fine clothing), and who is well-educated, well-spoken, confident, and witty, or at least, not offended easily. You can be either straight or bisexual. You should enjoy the finer things in life, but you need not be rich. I have no interest in bdsm, role-playing, etc. I simply adore seniors and soft members. I would prefer you to either live in or near New Jersey, or to be able to visit me relatively frequently, but I am willing to start online and see where it goes if you're not local but meet my requirements. In either case, I must get to know you first. No one-night stands, parents or men who want children, caregivers, workaholics, or recreational drug users. I would also prefer someone who is not political and doesn't involve himself inworld affairs or the drama of others. I am open to both friendship with fun and no strings attached, and a committed relationship.

A shortened version of my profile is below.

I live in New Jersey and am forty-one years old. Some of my interests include studying dandyism, nineteenth-century grammar, Upper Received Pronunciation, British history, and the Regency. I like coffee, tea, wine, cooking, reading British literature, nature and historical documentaries, hot weather, playing cards and dice, and cats. Musically, I enjoy Baroque through a bit of early Romantic, with Classical being my favourite. I love English and Viennese operettas. I am starting to learn about opera, focusing on singers from the 1940's and earlier, due to their style. I prefer antique menswear and accessories, and I would love to own an Edwardian suit. I love wit, wordplay, and dry humour without vulgarity. My parents are lesbians, and I am a gay rights supporter. I have been totally blind since I was two months old, due to Retinopathy of Prematurity. I am happily childfree and am not religious.

A much longer dating post can be found here, but it can easily be ignored, as the essentials have already been mentioned.

Hello. Georgiana Brummell is not my legal name, but it is what I prefer to be called. I chose it in honour of Beau Brummell. I joined Friendica in October of 2024, after Facebook closed their Basic Mobile site (not app), since their main page is barely accessible with a screen readr. However, I noticed many accessibility issues there as well, and they will take quite awhile to be resolve. I have, therefore, chosen to switch to the Blob.cat instance of Akkoma, though I do not intend to delete my Friendica account.

I live in New Jersey and am forty-one years old. Some of my interests include studying dandyism, nineteenth-century grammar, Upper Received Pronunciation, British history, and the Regency. I like coffee, tea, wine, nasal snuff, cooking, hot baths, reading British literature, nature and historical documentaries, old BBC radio shows, gardening, hot weather, and playing cards and dice. I also love cats. In classical music, I enjoy Baroque through a bit of early Romantic, with Classical being my favourite, while in popular (listen to rarely), I usually prefer 1950's through 1970's, and some acoustic recordings. I love theatre (especially English and Viennese operettas, Edwardian musical comedies), and some Regency/Georgian plays. I am starting to learn about opera, with my main focus being singers from the 1940's and earlier, due to the change in singing style that began roughly in the 1950's. I prefer antique menswear and accessories. It's my dream to either buy a genuine Edwardian suit or have one commissioned. I love wit, wordplay, and dry humour without vulgarity. My parents are lesbians, and I am a gay rights supporter. I have been totally blind since I was two months old, due to Retinopathy of Prematurity. I am happily childfree and am not religious. My main goal in life is simply to enjoy it, and have fun learning new things along the way. I am also single and searching. If you are or know a genuine dandy, or at least, a single, childfree, intelligent, well-dressed man, preferably over sixty, please tell him about me.

Please note. I don't write about American politics, race, anticapitalism, or world affairs (wars, poverty, oppression, etc.), and will not add those who do, as I don't want it filling my timelines. While I am interested in technology to an extent (particularly website accessibility), I am not a programmer or gamer, do not use Linux, and don't care what social network you use. I tend to get along better with people much older than I, but I will accept friends twenty-one and over. I have no understanding of chronic illness, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, loneliness, etc. so if you need help with that, I'm not the one to ask. I enjoy hearing about cats, cooking or gardening adventures, animals and nature, antiques, and interesting facts and life stories.

High culture (elite, lofty, self-important) is dead.

Not dying, not circling the drain. Dead. It lacks fruit, relevance, or even the staying power to haunt us like a proper ghost.

The so-called "low" genres, the trashy entertainment of the masses, are the ones that will outlive us all, strutting their unwashed faces into eternity while high culture gets buried in its gold-plated coffin.

Why? Because today's high culture was yesterday's gutter entertainment.

My parents are lesbians, and I am a huge gay rights supporter, but I stop short of using singular they and promoting the idea of more than two sexes, though you can certainly lean more towards one while being the other (as I do being a masculine woman), or change from one to the other via hormones, surgery etc. I have been totally blind since I was two months old, due to Retinopathy of Prematurity.

Interesting claims by the Honest Broker:
https://www.honest-broker.com/p/in-2024-the-tension-between-macroculture

It compliments my old Substack post on High Culture as Dead Culture. I argued that what we now consider to be high culture was once mass culture (e.g., Shakespeare's plays were originally meant for the masses, but later canonized). High culture is becoming marginal, and artistic achievement always needs the mass audience for creative reinterpretation & distribution.

In 2024, the Tension Between Macroculture and Microculture Will Turn into War

And I can already tell you who will win

> ... quite relevant to today’s problems was the sharp decline in what we call “high culture,” reading of classics and contemporary literature by the people who were called the factory girls in Lowell and by craftsmen and other workers. #Craftsmen would hire somebody to read to them while they were working because they were interested and had libraries... “Those who work in the mills ought to own them,” not have the status of machines

Cyberpunk in particular played itself out long ago, but the more general theme of a peer-to-peer-networked digitized society is at least as relevant as it ever was, the possibilities for artistic inspiration in the classical Western tradition at least as ripe even now.
