A friend of mine and his brother are starting a toy company in Pittsburgh, called Nicholas' Wondershop. They have their first product available for pre-order: hexagonal toy blocks for children, made from ambrosia wood finished with oils and beeswax.

Another 3 starfish-like hexagons for the blanket. I'm weighing them because I'm trying to compare my yarn in vs yarn out numbers this year. It feels a bit like I'm cheating with all the bulky yarn but calculating yardage seemed more like a chore than just weighing everything. 🤷
That's my 3rd set of 3 so I've got 9 so far. I'm aiming for 32 to start!
Turns out these hexagons are pretty good for meditation (that is, I can knit them with my eyes closed) so I'm up to 4! I'm probably going to be a little short on yarn and have to improvise for the half hexies at the edges of the blanket, but I'm pretty sure I can find or ply together something from my stash, so I'm going for it and I'll sort that out when I get there.
And for funsies: my new year's day cast on while I was watching yesterday's live stream!
This will eventually be a Polygon blanket. (Pattern is from Tin Can Knits) Maybe. I've never actually finished a blanket before and I have no idea if I have enough yarn but I do have a rainbow that's currently taking up waaay too much space in my office.
I very much want to finish this quilt and get it off the longarm. I am so tired of echo quilting these “tomato pincushions”
(TBH I’m not tired the actual sewing, I’m tired of burying so many threads each time I have to move from one block to another, but either way I am ready to move on)
