what it comes down to is that she wants more.
even if it's just to improve her social standing.
and even if it's just to please the elders.

it makes no difference

because the end of the day this behavior makes her uncomfortable with herself
and dependent on other people's opinions
and therefore heteronomous
and driven by tainted forces.

and that's why I am not shielding her from learning more about what she believes in by doing the earning for her

Perhaps your problem is that you are hardwired into believing that heterosexuality comes with the right of the other gender to tell you what to do.
just like the old mating rituals of the human and animal world.
