funny thing: For one of my ttrpg games I am playing in I am currently working on a Necormancer concept who works as a Doctor in the city the game takes place 😅
The game uses #HeroSystem and its a Super hero Game somaking a working NEcormancer Hero is tricky 😅

Every now and then I dig around on RPGGeek and other websites, looking for books for Fudge and the Hero System that I've missed elsewhere. Occasionally I end up following a lead into the depths of the Wayback Machine and forgotten corners of the Internet, piecing together someone's homebrew setting, or it might be a day like today when I find a professionally published item I'd simply never heard of.
This one came out more than a decade ago and is based on a series of comics from the same author / artist (or maybe they're both developed from the same source; not sure quite how the history plays out), with sections providing numbers for the generic setting in terms of Hero, FATE etc. Under $10 for the PDF, so I decided to treat myself and give it a spin.
The artist seems to have moved away from the setting and appears to mainly do more traditional paintings these days.
Very surprised to see the new Strike Force Organizations book appearing for sale in a Bundle of Holding offer before the usual channels, but it does mean that it's quite a bargain! Denis Loubet cover, too.

The old Adventurers Club magazine (allegedly quarterly, I think it was, although apparently not in earth years) published a number of adventures for the various Hero RPGS, but that was decades ago. @herogames is updating some of them to the Hero Sixth Edition rules, with four early Champions superhero adventures available so far.
Ahem...*taps mic*
This here be my beige.party #Introduction
I'm a Gen X (1967) American who works in security for a living. I feel fortunate to have grown up through the 70s, 80s, and the 90s. I kinda look at that as the Yahtzee! of pop culture. What a time to be a nerd!
Music defines me. I don't have just a soundtrack to my life, I have a boxed set, including rare demos and unreleased live recordings. Wanna get to know me? Hang around for my music posts.
A song that's...me?
I am ADHD, and have Dysthymia to boot. I live an unmedicated life, and am kind of a mess as a result. I'm not anti-medication, it's just that I can't seem to stay on the wagon. If you follow me, and I don't immediately follow you back, don't take it personal. I'm trying to deal with over stimulation.
Politically...jeebus. To make it easy, I'm a Democratic Socialist. Honestly, I hate trying to define myself.
What I am (consider the following "AF"): Pro-choice, Pro trans rights, as well as a firm believer that women can do whatever the blue hell they want. I'm pro-sexwork, and pro pineapple on pizza (DO NOT COME AT ME ON THAT ONE).
I DO NOT. LIKE. NAZIS.
If you are a nazi, I do not like you. My great uncle put bushels of you in the ground in WW II. Follow Hitler's example and suck on the end of a loaded Luger.
I'm religious, and by that, I shall refer to a quote attributed to Gandhi: "I consider him religious who recognizes the suffering of others." I am a bit all over the place, and do not blindly follow any specific dogma. I have my thing. It's not everybody's thing, but that's okay. Everybody else has their thing. It may not necessarily be my thing, but that's okay. Whatever your thing is, may it bring you comfort and peace of mind. Just don't be a wanker.
I am very pro Fediverse, and pro FOSS. Technology can be very cool and wondrous, if we choose to make it that way. I'm a Linux user, and have shed all but two mainstream social media platforms. I am attempting to de-google my life. I am VERY anti-AI.
Be kind. Always.
Lord, but I did ramble a one. That's ADHD for ya, folks: LOADS of bonus content!

Michael Surbrook's H.G. Wells sourcebook for the Hero System, "The Shape of Things to Come," is out now in PDF:

All I was doing was looking for a colour version of the Hero System 6th edition character sheet. What I found was this…
http://www.rogermwilcox.com/champions/jackie_sodium.html
"Jackie Sodium: Once only Jackie Albertson, a chemist like you or me. At will, he can shift his body from normal flesh-and-blood to solid metallic sodium, with all the drawbacks that entails. He has a tragic theme song [link on the character sheet page above]"
Spent a bit of time tinkering with this online combat tracker for the Hero System. Seems to be a work in progress, but it did a pretty smooth job with the sample characters I imported (a couple of pre-gens from Darren Watts’s Golden Age Champions supplement). I hope the designer keeps working on it.
The game that fascinates me the most *mechanically* is the Hero System, even though I've had few opportunities to run or play it. Compared to many other relatively complex systems it has a real depth and logic to much of it.
The current standard rulebook for the game is called Champions Complete. Today I abruptly realised that it sounds like a brand of dog food and I have no idea what to do with that thought.
