Say ah! A "tonsil" level view of a Grainy Hand hermit. (Who has no tonsils, but you get the idea.) 3 sets of maxillipeds, clearly visible; behind these are the small chewing and sorting appendages, the maxillae and maxillules, and at the back the strong, crushing jaws, or mandibles. #VancouverIsland #HermitCrabs #IntertidalInvertebrates #Invertebrates #MarineLife #DailyHermit
