I've been asked to give a brief talk about my YouTube channel OSMForHistoryBuffs at a European conference hosted by the Dry Stone Walls Association of Ireland (amongst others), bc I did a video about mapping drystone walls and other videos about mapping traditional skills (or their products). As usual, I dont remember what site got me interested in the topic, but here we are anyways.

After having mapped about 100 of them in the last couple of days and having looked at many of them, I have taken the liberty of writing a wiki page for 'amenity=mounting_block' despite an already existing 'man_made=mounting_block' for #OpenStreetMap. Hopefully the images and statistics will speak for themselves.
