Geranium robertianum

The #herbRobert / #RobertsGeranium is a #cranesbill* plant. It loves shade, but also tolerates full sunlight and then turns dark red due to light-protective pigments. *Their elongated fruiting stems resemble the beak of a crane.

A pic from yesterday of Geranium robertianum, herb-robert or Robert's geranium. Or, as we Finns call it, "smelly crane's knee" (haisukurjenpolvi). Because it smells when you touch it. And guess the stem looks like crane's knee🦧

"Dots" teableau for 09/27/24

Never fear, the Herb Robert in the photo will be destroyed today, as it's a noxious weed in the PNW. This one thought it belonged in my yard. More fool, it.

The first photo is Herb Robert where it's supposed to be, in the garden beds--all the garden beds (its a bit of a spreader!) The second photo is Herb Robert getting up in the world--in the crevice of a big old hickory tree! I really love this plant, despite its spreading tendencies, super easy to remove.
