A creative break of almost a month, combined with a tour through three countries โ€“ that's how Karin and I spent this years May.

Helge visited "old homeland" in the Westerwald region of Germany, we traveled along the Rhine, then we went to Graz in Austria to visit family and dear friends.

We experienced buzzing city life and the green Styrian countryside.

To top it all off, we treated ourselves to a week's beach vacation in Bibione (Italy) before the holiday season started.

It was an exhausting but also very joyful and inspiring time, which we spent together with Bailey ๐Ÿถ and Mickey ๐Ÿ˜ผ in various locations and Airbnbs.

We'll be posting little snapshots of our trip over the next few days. Like a mini travel diary, so to speak.

Neither we nor our paws enjoy long car rides. Therefore, the first step of our journey took us overnight from the Ligurian coast (IT) to Rosenheim (D) via the Brenner Pass.

The highlight here was a relaxing afternoon at lake โ€žSimsseeโ€œ (near Rosenheim) and a typical German beer garden.

Today a few impressions from another part of Genova-Levante:

Nervi, with its beautiful parks and the impressive โ€žPasseggiata Anita Garibaldiโ€œ along the rough sea.

We can hardly get enough of this exciting area and its rapid changes between the beautiful Villas, views of Camogli on one side and the hustle and bustle of industry, the huge ships and the Porto of Genova.

Last weekend, Karin and I treated our "inner child" to a magic arts festival:

We visited the #NerdShowBologna, a two-day convention with #comics, #games, #cosplay, and many small stands featuring #indieartists

I especially enjoyed the classic arcade machines and the vintage computers with their legendary games I grew up with.

The highlight for us, of course, was seeing James Masters, aka "Spike" from Buffy the vampire slayer, up close-practically within bite distance.
