Ever use My True Ancestry?
It seems most of my ancient ancestors stretch in a line from ancient Gaul through Germany and northern Italy to central Europe. (I do have a few outliers in Britannia and Sicily.)
In any case, I'm very clear my ancestral religion is a mix of Celtic and Heathen as was practiced in Continental Europe.
I wrote the novella "Dreams of Loki" as a devotional for Loki.

Where I lived in the East where I grew up, we would get a small tornado once a generation.
Here in the Midwest, it's just a fact of life from May to August.

In an age where religious minorities — especially Pagans — already face real marginalization, suspicion, and in some cases, violence, Brooks’s carelessness, and by proxy, The New York Times's carelessness for publishing it with little editorial concern, is irresponsible.
We need to be queer-as-f**k in the face of overwhelming oppression. Those of us who feel called to be visible can stand as lights for those trapped in the darkness of their closets. We will meet fear with pride, and a healthy dose of fabulous silliness. Because silly is a superpower.
If Hexennacht is about Odin for me, Beltaine is about Freyr.
Yes, I know historically a Norse deity had nothing to do with a Celtic holiday. No, I don't care. This isn't the Iron Age. We're allowed to mix things in the modern world, and many of us Yanks have mixed Celtic-Germanic ancestry anyway.
Anyway, I propitiated Freyr, Lord of the Elves and the fecund earth.

I wanted to contact The Troth to see if they ever plan to release "Our Troth Vol. IV: Heathen Garb & Gear" (2nd ed.)--originally planned for publication 2yrs ago--but their official site contact seems to be for journalist inquiries only, & all their online stores & other presences are out of date & broken. 😕
I don't want to spend an arm & leg on the 1st edition if it'll just be replaced, but it's been 2yrs, their sites don't even mention this book (I only just learned about it in Vol. III), why is all their online info so outdated...? Why make it so hard for a regular person to contact them for info?
No way I'm asking in the Heathenry subreddit, I like lurking but the votes there are rather unfriendly toward the merely curious. #heathenry #spirituality
