You know what irks me? When bigots try to misrepresent their bigotry and hate speech as "disagreement". As if it's a philosophical difference of opinion instead of a bigoted trope that is held without reason and defended against all reason.
Meanwhile, their hate speech meets an objective test. Specifically, the legal definition provided by the Supreme Court of Canada in R v. Keegstra and Saskatchewan v. Whatcott. They definitely meet these standards as they call to vilify transgender people and advocate for our mistreatment.
Hate speech is not free speech. It is the antithesis of free speech as it seeks to chill free speech by chilling the voices of those targeted.
