This is a personal favorite for my #QuoteSharing today:
“Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, ‘In this world, Elwood, you must be’—she always called me Elwood—‘In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart, or oh so pleasant.’ Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me.”
— Elwood P. Dowd
(Perfectly played by James Stewart, in the quirky & delightfully amusing movie Harvey.)
And of course Peggy Varnadow had to become Peggy Dow and Victoria Hornstein had to become Victoria Horne to satisfy the pressures of U.S.A. Anglicization.
Still a good movie, but one can always tell the old converted stageplays. All of the actors stood on their marks, and the camera never moved much. In the meantime, Hitchcock was having fun moving the camera around no end.
I'm trying to imagine a Hitchcockian #Harvey. It would no doubt be shot from Harvey's perspective.
Watching 3 people getting out of the front seat of a car is also something that screams old #USMovies.
There are only so many names available in the world of Anglicized U.S.A. showbusiness.
In the opening credits of #Harvey (1950) which I am about to watch and clear out of the TiVo, the director of photography is William Daniels (but not *that* William Daniels) and the music is by Frank Skinner (but not *that* Frank Skinner).

Hexus founder and CEO Sakshi Pratap, who previously held engineering roles at Walmart, Oracle, and Google, tells TechCrunch that her San Francisco-based team has already joined Harvey, while the startup's India-based engineers will come onboard once Harvey establishes a Bangalore office.
