The UK’s New Under-16 Social Media Ban Will Cause More Harm Than It Prevents

This week, politicians in the UK pushed forward with plans to eviscerate privacy and free speech on the internet by announcing a ban on social media for users under 16 that is set to take effect in Spring 2027. The UK government continues to falsely characterize this policy as a necessary response...

When you witness someone saying anything openly, and #harmful or #offending just kindly remind them it's the #freespeech with #consequences and to exercise responsible speech.

Do I need to define 'responsible speech' for some people? I can; but it will be partially vague because I don't want to dictate it.

responsible speech would ideally,

a. be avoiding the spreading of anything that either disrespects ones personal #identity, or their personal #attractions including their sexual and not sexual attractions.

b. this use to be said more often on social media and discord, but using #genderedlanguage as an example, Usually you'l find calling anyone they/them if you don't know up front is a safe start. Usually the issue stems when you make a direct assumption of their gender, or when you start to conflict against a persons acclaimed identity after they officially told you (this is probably the worse because if you did #misgendered you could atleast have that accidental excuse, but arguing about someones identity is rude and harmful to #minorities .)

c. Not talking in support of things that are known for harming the planet. This could just start somewhere as simple as don't advocate for #littering. and then branching up to avoiding supporting #oilfactories. Maybe even deny #ai #datacenters

Last point.
c2.This c part actually isn't just about the planet but also humanity. so you'll want to avoid supporting ideologies that are harmful to people as well, such as #whitenationalism #nazism #fascism

Responsible speech is something I came up with a couple years ago, but idk if this is something that was already created. but it means as it sounds, just spread speech that is responsible. and not arguing about 'your right to just say whatever you want in a free country' (u.s) just to hate on marginalized people, that is not responsible.
