I've finished the last three harlequins of my troupe! This is sort of a significant hobbying moment for me, since this group (plus Solitaire) were the first Games Workshop miniatures I bought, very early in my hobby journey, slightly over two years ago. (Why yes I paint slowly)

This might even be enough for a kill team? We'll see I suppose. I've still got a death jester, star weaver and two sky weavers to add to this crew.

Also, these are the first pictures taken with a new ring light, are they too bright?

Entering the phase of the hobby cycle where I'm wrapping up the projects that have been on the desk a while. (I probably shouldn't jinx myself like that)

I've been picking away at this harlequin solitaire for a while, quite pleased. I believe this officially marks more members of the troupe painted than not!

Going to need to adjust my painting pace when I finally get the blood bowl starter box.

Something a little different today, decided to grab my solitaire, the troupe colors, and figure out the placement on the fly. Some reasonable wet blending going on here, but it's looking a bit sloppy everywhere for now!

To my fellow harlequin painters: I'm going to be painting a Solitaire for my troupe soon. Should I follow the color scheme of my troupe or make it its own since they aren't actually part of troupes?

I've seen both and I don't know yet what I want. Leaning towards my own colors I guess.

Considered trying to complete the set in August as a challenge, but I wouldn't be happy with the results I think.

Some more wips for today.

I've been looking forward to painting the vines and flowers on this for a while, and I've gotta say: not disappointed, love them 💕. Shadows and highlights still to come but anytime there's bright colors I get excited.

... speaking of which - just blocking in the main bright colors on the next harlequin in my troupe (#3). At this point I'm mostly making sure that I haven't put any of the main triad right next to each other. If I just get the colors on there I don't have to worry about shooting myself in the foot as I go. Maybe.

After much fiddling with checks, I'm calling my second harlequin done.

I had a lot of fun with her, especially painting the power sword and the gems, both of which were a big learning experience.

Maybe I'll paint enough for a kill team by the time I turn 40. 😂
