Hype for the Future 103L: The Illinois Iron Furnace

Overview The Illinois Iron Furnace National Historic Site is located within the northwestern portion of Hardin County, Illinois, away from the Ohio River within the county but relatively nearer the Ohio River from the perspective of the State. Today, Illinois is home to the Illinois Iron Furnace located to the north of the communities of Elizabethtown and Rosiclare, with the most notable section around the iron furnace being the iconic picnic area.
