I arrived 6 weeks ago. A few things I learned:

1️⃣ use movetodon.org to find all your 🐦 friends here
2️⃣ make an #introduction post, pin it to yr profile, share other folks' intro's if they look interesting
3️⃣ follow @feditips and @mastodonmigration for tips
4️⃣ boost if you think others should see it, a ⭐ does not help, no algorithm here
5️⃣ also follow new folks, don't just re-create 🐦 bubble 🗯️

#introductionpost I, like a lot of you, are a #TwitterRefugree. I desperately want a platform where I can be wholly myself.

I'm a mom, a wife, a girlfriend, and a big bundle of anxiety all rolled up into a nerdy, sometimes funny individual.

She/her are my pronouns. Mostly I just want to find good people to discourse with and have a place to express things I can't on other platforms.

Still finding my way around this space - so far, so good, but phone interface slightly less intuitive atm (eg can't set for toot privacy or see DMs).
