Last night I tried oil painting again for the first time since I was in university. It’s so wildly different from sketching, drawing or any digital art I usually do and requires a totally different way of thinking and approaching the project, and was a very fun way to stretch my creativity in a different way.
I experienced a lot of both happiness and frustration while working on this, but I’m really looking forward to creating even more.

Recently we did a Bob Ross session at work. The organizers slowed down one of his videos to 40% of its normal speed, and my colleagues and I created a winter landscape filled with happy little trees. I had an absolute blast! 😃

Still getting used to my new machine-- what seams need hump jumpers, how much I can encourage it to change direction before it skips, etc.
To that end, I have a few (several) Happy Little Trees where I had to fix stitching. Got to try a few decorative stitches, too! #quilting #happylittletrees

Yesterday, I was watching part of the Bob-Ross-Weekend on Twitch, and there was more than one painting that looked similar to your photo. It's just missing some more trees and, of course, a cabin in the woods! (◠‿◕)

Bob Ross was known for his unpretentious approach to painting on his long-running show, “The Joy of Painting,” but now the painting he completed on his first episode in 1983 is for sale for nearly $10 million. Minneapolis gallery owner Ryan Nelson calls the painting, “A Walk in the Woods,” the “rookie card” for Ross. Nelson bought the painting last year and then priced it at $9.85 million. Ross' paintings are hard to get and are expensive, but none has sold for nearly that much. Nelson says he's in no hurry to sell and would like to display the painting so that lots of people get to see Ross' work and understand his efforts to encourage regular people to paint.
It's Baahb Ross!
I tried out digital painting for the first time using #krita by going through the excellent "Krita Meets Bob Ross" videos. Not too bad for a first try, and that's just using the touchscreen on my laptop. Now I want to get a real drawing tablet...
