My review of Amour. (we need more Amour).
Haneke is spot on in the ways he tries to draw in the viewer and making sure that viewer cannot leave the story, not even when the screen has turned black again at the end of it all. It’s like the famous phrase from the brilliant Jacques Tati, he also wanted the public to hold on to something. ‘’I want the film to start when you leave the auditorium.’ Love and death have rarely felt more outlined as themes by a single sequence we can see at the start of Amour.
