The heathering in this yarn is really pretty.

This is a 4-ply handspun yarn made with 2 strands wool, 1 strand alpaca, and 1 strand angora. The differential fibers took up the dye and different rates to create this really nice effect.

That wasn't my intention when I made the yarn, I just didn't want to bother with blending

I can't decide if I want to knit Cottongrass or Saskie, both designed by Saskie&Co.

The yarn I have is hand spun fingering weight 50% Wool, 25% Alpaca, 25% Angora in the colors Oatmeal (MC) and Black Walnut (CC).

I've knitted Cottongrass before and it remains one of my favorite patterns, but I wonder if I should knit the rabbit pattern because of the angora content. 🤔

I’ve spent the last week sick while at a festival. Not a lot of festival related things happened, but I had my wheel with me so much spinning was done between naps. I have some delightful #handspunyarn to wash dust out of now that I’m home.

Konversation unlängst bei einem Stricktreffen, ich mit meiner Handspindel (wie so oft in letzter Zeit 😎 ):

Spricht mich einer vom Nebentisch an:
„Sorry, wir sind neugierig und wollten fragen, was das eigentlich ist…?!“

Die ganze Runde im Chor: „Eine Handspindel!“
Ich: „Sozusagen die Vorstufe zum Stricken.“
Kollegin: „Sie spinnt!“
Ich: „Also wortwörtlich!“
