These candle holders are made from a locally fallen Locust tree branch. As they are a hardwood, it takes time to saw, drill, and sand them to the state ready for use. The bark, with it’s lichen and moss growth, is left intact to maintain it’s natural beauty, bringing the outdoors in.

They’re perfectly sized for birthday candles, when you don’t have a cake, or just want to light a small candle for use in you sacred space.

This tiny moss sampling was interesting because I tried some new techniques with crocheted bits and waxed thread.

It was a birthday gift for my favourite relative, Aunt Krista. She’s so vibrant and loving, and deserves all the best that life can give her.

This took many different techniques and materials but went much faster than the previous lichen piece. I used no. 928, 907, 581, 3345, & 166…and a bit of green yarn for the round mood moss. It was all embroidered on grey craft felt and cotton fabric together .

I’m working on realistic techniques and creating a sort of go-to catalog so that it’s not all so impulsive and with better colour assortments.

I used the DMC pearl 907 for the moss and a sample orange sewing thread that I have to find more of, on craft felt.

I ❤️ how this turned out! My favourite so far. This laprose lichen embroidery piece is something I‘ll only do once in a while because it‘s VERY time consuming☺️ It was a birthday gift for my uncle which we celebrated last week.
