While I was waiting for my food at the Polish restaurant an old lady emerged from the kitchen, took a large plastic cup from behind the bar, poured herself about six ounces of vodka, filled the cup the rest of the way with Coke, and went back into the kitchen. No one paid her any mind.
This is not the *most* Hamtramck thing I've ever seen but it's definitely in the top 10.

Well, Adam El-Harby is Amir Ghalib's former campaign manager. He has worked with Ghalib for many years. He's been a community activist.
He's certainly well known in the city's Yemeni community. One of his platform things is that he wants to create a Yemen town in Hamtramck. He says that he's doing this because he was born in Hamtramck, grew up in Hamtramck.
He's fairly politically aligned with the mayor who supports President Trump. When Trump came to rally in Metro Detroit last fall, El-Harby was there.
There are a group of Muslim voters who support the ultraconservative positions on culture wars, for example. And he's fairly well aligned.”
