Last week I have been working intensively on one of the songs for my new album Letter To A Friend and laid down some e-guitar for it. I love how it turned out and can't wait to share it with you. It's also the first time there's a hammond organ in my arrangements! Was about time!

It needs work still. But having a nice way to record direct from the organ whilst still having local playback is good.

I honestly did not think that within a week we'd have something sounding this good! Given the ebay listing was "for parts" and "Just hums". Plus it's a late 60's design so the transistors aren't going to be the greatest. the caps are probably dry. and gods knows what else could go wrong.

Been listening through Barbara Dennerlein's discography yesterday and today. The lady knows how to play the #Hammond! I've been a fan for over decades. She's virtuously modest, leaving plenty of room for the musicians she's collaborating with while at the same time showing off her skill on the organ, getting everything possible from the Hammond, from the vulnerable to the roaring, from the quiet to the screaming. Refreshingly modern too. Love it.
