At about 1pm the wind shifted 180Β° to the NNW and a line of dark clouds approached. It really looked like rain, but they quickly moved over and the temp began to drop. #Wind was gusting above 25kts! I portaged my gear back to the northern end of the island, back in amongst the larger trees. This was mostly to avoid the bugs in the wind shadows.
In the second photo you can see my full rig with an underquilt and diamond shaped rainfly. Got down to the mid-40s for the next few nights. I was comfortable and took down the fly after it was clear there would be no rain. π
TissekDid a quick overnighter during what may be this season's coldest weekend. About -12C which is about 15C colder than where I usually draw the line. Wanted to test myself and my equipment. And we all passed the test. I mean I'm here writing this in a good mood.
Hammock, THICC sleeping pad, underdimensionerad sleeping bag reinforced with a regular blanket and jacket also a liner for the bag I didn't need to use.
