Winter diptychs. Photographs taken in December 2025 along Lake Maggiore and the Ticino river in Bellinzona. The photographs were shot with a Canon Demi EE17 half-frame camera; the negatives were developed using Caffenol, a mixture of instant coffee and Vitamin C. The imperfections and halos on the negatives, left by the handcrafted development, are part of the process, allowing for full control over one's own work. The negatives were digitized using a full-frame sensor; therefore, the two half-frame shots remain joined, forming a diptych and creating unexpected connections.

One of the nice things about being in a museum is also observing the people
(and occasionally photographing them).
I sometimes find the audience just as interesting as the art itself.
In a museum, people move differently than in other places, and they adopt a more attentive, observant posture.

I sometimes dream of making an exhibition around this subject.
But above all, I’m a dreamer. Please don’t take that away from me !

And at the end of the year, we visited Museum Voorlinden once more...

Although I actually like to let myself be surprised by culture,
I had done some reading beforehand for this exhibition.
Still, there was plenty left to be surprised by.
Voorlinden is truly a fantastic museum, with very high-quality exhibitions,
such as the current Mark Manders “Mind Study.”
The museum also has a very carefully designed use of natural light, which means that under normal weather conditions you can view everything in daylight
and even photograph handheld with 400 ASA film.
