Yesterday's hailstorm left its mark on my sunflower seedlings (Helianthus annuus). The young leaves were punctured straight through by the impact — a reminder of how vulnerable seedlings can be to sudden, severe weather. 🌱
Despite the damage, the plants themselves are still healthy and growing. At this stage, sunflowers are quite resilient: as long as the growing tip is intact, they bounce back quickly. Nature doesn't always play nice, but it does keep things interesting.

De hagelbui van gisteren heeft duidelijk sporen nagelaten op mijn zonnebloem zaailingen (Helianthus annuus). De jonge blaadjes werden letterlijk doorboord door de hagelstenen — een herinnering aan hoe kwetsbaar zaailingen kunnen zijn bij plotse, hevige weersomstandigheden. 🌱
Gelukkig zijn de plantjes zelf nog gezond en groeien ze gewoon door. Zonnebloemen zijn in dit stadium behoorlijk veerkrachtig: zolang het groeipunt intact is, herstellen ze snel. De natuur speelt niet altijd mee, maar ze houdt het wel boeiend.
