On this episode of @CypherCon #HackerHistory I talk to Michael Lenz

It's a great story about starting out with what we now call retro computers, building a SOC and SIEM before those were really things, and eventually putting focus into Burbsec community meetups

The history of Michael Lenz - Hacker History Podcast

Hacker History sits down with Michael Lenz. Michael started out in the Commodore 64 era with the usual games and BBS where many others started. His story takes a really interesting turn when he gets himself into infosec (before it's called infosec). He builds a SOC and eventually a SIEM. Before both of those things […]

I had a chat with @mrjeffman on @CypherCon #HackerHistory

Jeff has a ton of stories from the early days of security and his time at the NSA. It was awesome he gave us some time to tell his stories

This is the best thing i saw today, it put a smile on my face. We are in the right place. I wish i could also say that it's because the revolution is back on, but unfortunately it just means that Mastodon is still so small that 50 people posting something makes it the trending topic 🤷‍♀️ it's not a coincidence either, the two topics are deeply connected, there's a reason why the name of our movement was a date with a hashtag. i'll try to write more about this in the next days #15M #Hackerhistory ❤️‍🔥

I spoke with @berniework for @CypherCon #HackerHistory

Bill had some great stories about how he started out helping his Dad and eventually found himself working at phone company trying to sell TV and a TV company trying to sell phones

It's a really fun story

Here's a vintage recording from the @2600 Voice BBS (c. 1990s) featuring details on the Manchester meetup at the iconic Cyberia Internet Cafe on Oxford Road.

(Also includes details on Bristol and London meetings).

I am doing a research project on the history of doxing, which has involved a lot of scouring through various old #bbs list serves, etc. I have found many of them so amusing that I've decided I'm going to share screen shots regularly here! Thank you the #defacto archive for this one. Signature by the Amiga crew in 1993 #internethistory #warez #hackerhistory #realfriendshiprulesbusinesssucks

Yea, I heard the #offthehook #2600oth radio #wbai and podcast folks talk about him over the years, since the 1980s.

Thx for the reminder about the doc at #sundancefilmfestival

@fraggle

this one is notable because it's our (very) short lived hacker collective AENTiKLOKWAiZ - we'd already drifted apart by the time this was made but I liked the logo a lot so I reused it for a while
