WiFollowing jaoanese folklore wisteria is a plant that repels oni/demons.
There are different thoughts why:
A strong scent (protection via smell)
A sacred plant (a vessel for the gods)
A member of the pea/bean family (protection via hama)

Peas/beans are thrown during the Setsubun festival while shouting "Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi!" ("Demons out! Good luck in!")

In Hanno Station you can find the moomins again.
They station itself is pretty cool with a lot wooden design elements.
But not just the station has a fancy design!
You can see a futuristic train with super big windows and comfy looking seats!
