This is what bothers me about this society, the search for the perfect human. Disability? Who doesn't have some function that someone else has? He is intelligent, but... like a potentially superior person, but defective. This is ableism at it's most notorious, because it masks as empathy and science. Capitalism is more than an economic theory, it is a way of ranking the human and material world against some conception of the ideal, usually an economic valuing, but it extend to social values, because the two are linked. Disabled people are more likely to not get hired and more likely to become commodities for the for profit health care system. Taking this too personal am I?
