Especially depends on mastering and experience in general.
After years of sending patches to Guix, I personally can't see many of the issues described in the blog post. Maybe they are a real blocker for beginners but with time everything becomes doable and I just focus on other parts - resolve open issues, review PRs, package for #guixastroupdate ;-)

@chipiguay would you like to package it for Guix in #guixastroupdate ?

I struggle to get @astropy 7.2.0 to be packaged with coordinates/sites.json wich was not an issue to obtain and inject in 7.1.1. Now the option is removed which is seen on #Pypeit side - it tries to download it during the test phase, which causes tests to fail due to isolation.
