I'm still going through my stuff to toss away the shit I don't need and pack *some* of the stuff I want to keep but that I won't need for a while.
I just ran across an old CD of Grim Fandango. I'm keeping it... even if I probably won't play it again.
I mentioned earlier tossing away greeting cards.
The calculus is easy.
* Greeting cards: fleeting moments of joy.
* Grim Fandango: hours of discovery and fun. And I kid you not, the plot of that game was above and beyond anything else at the time.
It is probably above and beyond most of what passes as "computer games" these days.
It's still shiny in spots but it's healed.
Ča brille encore un peu par endroits, mais c'est guéri.
And to give you an idea of how deep the box is, I placed the original Monkey Island box on top of it.
The Monkey Island Trilogy box is almost 1.5 times thicker! 🐵

Here’s the back of the box. It’s very colorful, too 🏝️ 🗺️ 🌞
I think this beautiful edition is exclusive to the French market.

After checking, I still have the Monkey Island Trilogy box 😀 (phew!)
So I put the CD case back inside 💿 🐒
As you can see, the box is deep!

@lucasarts_places I have never played Grim Fandango but all the images of that game that are posted confuse me. I can't make out what the game is about, what era or world it is set in. I know it had this cartoony skeleton in it and I always thought it was some kind of Dios de los Muertos thing. But none of the images seem to reflect that and the CG looks quite dated...
It's such a contrast to the Monkey Island stuff.
Putain!
We'll break 70F/21C tomorrow. I am not ready for this shit. It will cool down again Wednesday, thankfully.
Also Wednesday, I get to take the bandages off my new [and repaired] tattoos. :benderdance: I think I'm going to ask this artist if he'll do my #GrimFandango sleeve. He sounded interested when I described it.
EDIT: Here's part of it:

MEMBRILLO: All day long, Manny, I sort through pure sadness. I find evidence, and I piece together stories. But none of my stories end well -- they all end here. And the moral of every story is the same: we may have years, we may have hours, but sooner or…
