Taking a break from studying to watch Gridman Universe. It’s so nice to be spending time with this crew again.
Tobleh 🇨🇦 🫐✨GRIDMAN Universe is a very indulgent movie. It gives you all the best hits of both GRIDMAN and DYNAZENON; it also gives you a LOT of fanservice - and by that I mean the mecha anime definition of just seeing cool robots beat the FUCK out of kaiju and each other...and maybe small sprinklings of the other definition too (not too egregious at least).
But at least it's a good kind of indulgence - like how I'd feel after being able to enjoy an entire tub of ice cream; GRIDMAN Universe was REALLY enjoyable and fun to watch from beginning to end. Plus TRIGGER didn't forget to include some genuinely cool moments too - from Hibiki's massive trip as the world continues to glitch out in front of him, how they handled Akane Shinjo, and how the relationships between Hibiki and Rikka along with Yume and Yomogi play out.

GRIDMAN UNIVERSE
Theatrical follow-up to SSSS.GRIDMAN and SSSS.DYNAZENON. A year has passed since the events of SSSS.GRIDMAN. The world is at peace and no one except for Rikka and Utsumi remembers the kaiju, Gridman, or Akane Shinjou. This includes Yuuta, who despite serving as Gridman's host, has no memory of the most important moments of his life. So when a new Kaiju appears, he leaps at the chance to prove to himself that he too can be the hero by merging with Gridman once more.
