Teaching OpenClaw to design 3D models to print and it worked even better than expected! Here’s a skill for it https://github.com/LucaKaufmann/gridfinity-generator-skill #openclaw #3dprinting #gridfinity

Slowly (I think) getting more adept in #FreeCAD for my #Gridfinity project, but I have to say that random messages like this (coupled with no apparent failure) give me pause:

PartDesign::Body: Link(s) to object(s) 'BinBlank' go out of the allowed scope 'Body'. Instead, the linked object(s) reside within 'N/A'.

Spent a good bit of Friday and some of yesterday diving headlong into #FreeCAD using my #Gridfinity customized tool bins (tracing, etc) as momentum. Went down a few dead ends and lots of Kagi searches translating Fusion 360 knowledge and workflow.

I got to a functional bin in pretty short order once I really started the process, but I stumbled a lot on making the separate liner that I generate as a projection of the shape scaled to 0.99 in Fusion. I get the gist, but need to revisit. 1/2

So I have most of the zillion individual components sorted into labeled, standard #gridfinity bins in the workbench drawers now.

Now I'm delving into the custom holders for various tools and, frankly, it's a lot of fun. I gave tooltrace.ai a spin, but it was pretty buggy and not generating precise enough shapes for my tastes, so I'm just doing the designs myself in Fusion 360. I'm testing my own modified method and will share the workflow if it continues to work well.

#3dprinting

458 hours on the #BambuLab H2S so far and the second time I've been prompted to conduct lubrication and cleaning from its in-built schedule. Definitely needed it.

Been printing kilos of Sunlu matte black PLA on my #gridfinity project and either that or typical abrasion dust off the belts in the machine make quite the mess. Between the dust and the haze I've cleaned off the inside glass more than once, I'm glad I added extra filtration on my system's rear vent.

#3dprinting #BambuLab

Sure wish Sunlu would offer their matte PLA in refill form. I'm going through it at a steady clip on my #gridfinity project and these re-usable spools are piling up, but I have to keep ordering more instead of the more compact and environmentally friendly refills. :(

#3dprinting

This crazy inexpensive Nelko label printer I bought a few months ago has been ideal during my #gridfinity project. I would have lost my mind on this project using the ancient, label-wasting, single line LCD P-touch I’ve had forever. Proven useful for a ton of needs so far.
