Despite the grey and chilly weather here in Helsinki, some plants have noticed the first – albeit tenuous – signs of spring. I have never seen snowdrops in early March before. They are certainly pretty, but this worries me a bit. I also photographed some willow catkins, grey alder catkins and disintegrating bulrush seed heads. Though truth be told, willow catkins started appearing in January because it was so warm.
