Festival crush update: after updating @TheBreadmonkey on my wholly unrequited and inappropriate crushes on singers Georgia, Dana and Leah (BCNR, Porridge Radio and Mysterines respectively) at #greenman2024 I had very few crushes at #greenman2025:
Total mancrushes on Perfume Genius and That Hot Guy from W H Lung, and also on John Glacier (a woman).
At #eotr2025 I had a mild to moderate swoon at Sharon Van Etten, but this morning fell head over heels in love with Photography Babe at The Sophs. She had long black hair in a black cap, a black leather jacket and a 100-200mm telephoto. I didn't even get a chance to see if it was a Nikon or Canon, for almost as soon as she fell into my life, she left to go photograph another band.
Farewell Photography Babe, I shall love you until the day I die or the day that I forget you, whichever is the sooner.
Top #greenman2025 eats: tempura soft shell crab with sweet chilli sauce; beautiful fluffy naan with harissa aubergine; pakora wrap with mango chutney and cumin rice; a sausage roll (@purplepadma)
Disappointments: curry goat; rosemary fries.
One of the tracks of the weekend at #greenman2025 was Joshua Idehen's Mum Does The Washing. My mum lives 5 miles from Green Man so I'm staying a couple of nights.
I mailed her during the gig and said "remind me to play you this track" and she really liked it (I sent her the lyrics afterwards as she found it hard to keep track of the metaphors when listening live).
My mum has done three loads of washing of my dirty festival clothes. I was not trying to make a subtle hint.
Poetry: you play your mum a poem and she does the washing https://youtu.be/PS9Bc_GQBEs?feature=shared
