The gen is that there should be a green sandpiper somewhere in this photo, but I’m buggered if I can find it with bins or with clever zoomy bridge camera…

On 12 September here in #NorfolkUK we had a visit from a bird I struggle to identify. It was light enough to walk across the lilies in the lake. My book suggests it is a #greensandpiper. It's the only one that's close with such a pronounced white underside and hint of a white ring round the eye, but it could be some other #sandpiper.
I'd love to know what it was, so I can start a 2024 page to follow this one:

Some pictures from yesterday's peach blossom viewing in Imathia with @vivia.
In addition to all the colorful peach blossoms and a lot of lichen on the branches, there were a lot of insects and birds around. Along the watering canals there were many green sandpipers, on the peach trees we managed to catch a picture of a common buzzard and also of one Eurasian Jay. There were many groups of jays inside the trees.

A small slice of #UrbanBirding this morning before the footie. I find it uplifting that Green Sandpiper, Dipper and Grey Wagtail can be seen in #Exeter - in the middle of a built up, residential area. Good for the soul.
The Sandpiper was my 150th species for 2023, so I video'd it as a celebration. Let's hope Exeter City don't spoil the day! #UKBirding #Birding #wildlife #nature #GreenSandpiper #TringaOchropus #wader #Devon
