Greenpeace has always fought – and will continue to fight – vigorously against nuclear power because it is an unacceptable risk to the environment and to humanity. The only solution is to halt the expansion of all nuclear power, and for the shutdown of existing plants. The future of the planet’s climate, the lives and livelihoods of billions of people depend on the energy generation choices being made today. We have the opportunity to stabilise climate change, end the nuclear nightmare and tackle the inequity of fuel poverty. For the planet and its people we must all make the right choice. We must choose efficient and safe renewable energy sources over dirty and dangerous nuclear power.
