@Geri
I never got to see Caravan, they never came to my neck of the woods (Hull) and didn't play any of the festivals I went to. Oddly, for the time (late 60s early 70s) no-one I knew had any of their albums, so all in all they passed me by until the 90s, when I bought a compilation double album on vinyl, which I really like. It still gets regular play.
Overall, I was never greatly into prog, except for King Crimson and the earlier Yes albums.
I saw Genesis once but remember nothing about them. Always loved the Softs and then the #GratefulDead got hold of me!
I'll give this one a listen. Thanks π
American Beauty by the Grateful Dead
I bought this 2020* repress of the Dead's 1970 classic album after the impossibly beautiful side 2 opener, Ripple was posted in last week's ThursdayFiveList.
The influence of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, who were recording DΓ©jΓ Vu in the same studio at the time, is clear.
*Closer examination reveals that, contrary to the eBay listing, this is the 2011 pressing. I'm not fussed - it sounds great.

I am having trouble finding the discussion, but a couple of days ago a few folks were talking about Phil Lesh and Friends shows from April 1999. I am loving hearing Trey and Page play these three shows. *currently listening to 4-16-99 and the sequence Chalk Dust Torture -> Mountains of the Moon - > Scarlet/Fire*
