MOU For May 17 National Age Group Aquathlon (NAGA) Formally Signed In Quezon City

The stage is set for the 2026 National Age Group Aquathlon (NAGA) event scheduled for May 17 at the Amoranto Sports Swimming Pool as the Quezon City Government and Triathlon Philippines (TriPhil) formally signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) this past Monday.

The MOU was signed by the Honorable Vice Mayor Gian G. Sotto together with Triathlon Philippines president Tom Carrasco and Nico Carrasco which was witnessed by many local officials. This development highlights a strong partnership between the City Government and TriPhil for grassroots sports development.

It also highlights Quezon City’s unwavering support in promoting youth sports, healthy lifestyles and the continued growth of triathlon and aquathlon in the Philippines. Triathlon Philippines has confirmed that more than 300 participants have registered for the May 17 aquathlon which is an improvement over the previous aquathlon event that was also hosted by Quezon City last year.

One of my newer, younger neighbours (my Mom & her Mom became friends) came by to talk to me yesterday. She asked if I'm open to doing a brief presentation/mini workshop for our neighbourhood community in early June. I've agreed to teach a free frugal gardening mini workshop & will give away some free supplies for newbies to get started well. I pitched starting a neighbourhood seeds sharing library too because many people avoid the downtown area so they don't visit Victoria Seed Library, which is in the Central Victoria public library. She's keen on having a smaller community seeds library & is working on writing a community grant for that & for us to do more neighbourhood community building work.

It's wonderful to be approached by a neighbour, who is wanting to actively collaborate on closer community building, right in our 'hood. Community grassroots collaborations sparks joy for me 😃💗

It's not easy. The German Coop "Resonte" has dissolved, which is a shame.

I stumbled over "Mirlo" - it's US based which at the moment is not a good option for me.

A visit to Mallorie Park, the home of Ripon City, which is certainly one of the better step seven grounds in the country.

The outstanding feature is the main stand, which dates back to the 1920's. Definitely one for your respective bucket lists!

This afternoon's game with Hall Green United in the West Yorkshire League Premier Division ended 1-1 (att: 74). Lovely stuff.

I have a bunch of these free peat seed starters & am making them into guerilla seed-ball bombs by adding some compost soil/clay & assortment of native plant seeds & herbs/food plant seeds. They'll be easy to throw out, from my scooter or car window.
