Bit of a shot in the dark, however I'm considering starting a UK based #notforprofit that is going to require ongoing #funding and not really sure where to start.

I've mentioned the idea to friends and colleagues and it seems it might have merit, however I think that the #fundraising is going to be the tricky bit, whether that's #crowdfunding, #grants or #corporate #sponsorship.

If anyone is hooked in to this system and can offer some advice, I'd be very grateful.

Getty: Getty Awards $1.8M to Increase Access to Black Visual Arts Archives. “The Getty Foundation announced today it has awarded $1.8 million for eight grants through its Black Visual Arts Archives initiative, a national, multi-year program to enhance access to archival collections related to Black artists and arts organizations.”

I wrote a grant to help community members publish their own books. Did a similar project a few years ago and we had 3 books plus an anthology of shorter prices. This time, we had MORE THAN 30 BOOKS turned in!! This has meant a lot more work for me than anticipated, but I'm over the moon to see so many! Very excited to actually see the books and celebrate with the newly minted authors this summer.

"The Department of Government Efficiency’s cancellation last year of the majority of ffederal #humanities #grants, including to several #Jewish projects, was #unlawful and #unconstitutional, a federal judge ruled Thursday.

In her 143-page ruling, U.S. District #Judge #ColleenMcMahon called out the agency created by #President #DonaldTrump specifically for its targeting of Jewish projects, including #Holocaust #research.

“At a time when the specter of #antisemitism has reemerged from the shadows, for our Government to deem a project about #Jewishwomen disfavored because it centered on ‘Jewish cultures’ and ‘female’ voices is deeply troubling,” wrote #McMahon, who was appointed by President #BillClinton in 1998. She was referring specifically to a canceled “project on Jewish #women subjected to slave labor during the Holocaust.”
