The Carroll Street Bridge is the second bridge crossing Brooklyn's Gowanus Canal, situated between the Union Street and Third Street Bridges. This #NYTMCollection photo shows the BMT 4 Ave—Garfield Place Substation in 1968 versus today. It is one of 218 substations in our system. Located on the border of #Gowanus and #ParkSlope in Brooklyn, the Garfield Place Substation is still in use and looks nearly identical today as it did in 1968.
