When I saw the photo of Sammy that @NotAHopeInHades shared, it reminded me of this photo I took of my (now gone) boy Hitch. We took this in 2015 for the "Pit Bull Flower Power" campaign which was to bring awareness to the negative stereotypes of pitties. The photo series was started by photographer Sophie Gamand in order to challenge the public's perception of them as dangerous animals. The goal was to soften their image and highlight their vulnerability to help them get adopted.

Hitch was the perfect boy for the job. 💐

When Aled didn't want to move to NYC (who the hell doesn't want to live in NYC at least once? I had an awesome apartment that I miss to this day), I had to pack up and move to Wales with my old girl Jesse here and my three cats. She had to be "smuggled"* in past Defra because pitbulls are banned in the UK. She was already 12 when she moved over but she got to spend her last couple of years in front of the fireplace, swimming at the beach, and being spoiled by Aled's parents who were terrified of her when they met her... For about 3.6 seconds.

* Not really but we had to hire a professional pet mover for a stupid amount of money who could grease the wheels.
