My first five-star read of the year came early 😅
I was a bit hesitant at first because the book was almost 1,000 pages long, but I quickly got over it.
It started off slow, but then it got really detailed and kept me hooked. I was always finding time to read, even during my breaks.

Joe Hill's suspense and vivid storytelling had me hooked until the very end.
The characters were flawed, and I loved some of them, but definitely not all of them. They were all surprising in their own ways. And what about King Sorrow? It's a real game-changer: it's got a dark, sharp, and unforgettable vibe.
I highly recommend the book.

This was one of those books where I was like, "I should love this."

Basically, it's all about loss and grief, as well as digital obsession and curated intimacy. The emotional setup is strong, and the theme feels very current.
But reading it felt more like watching a case study than experiencing a descent. I got what the novel was trying to do. I just never got on board with it.
Sometimes an interesting idea isn't the same as an engaging story.
