🚂 Visitors to Gloucester Station can now view a detailed model railway diorama in the waiting room, showing the station across eras from the steam age of the 1880s to the present day, marking 200 years of rail travel. Unveiled by the Mayor of #Gloucester, the display was created by the Gloucester Model Railway Club with a £1,000 grant from Great Western Railway’s Customer and Community Improvement Fund. It took 12 volunteers around a year to complete and includes detailed scenes of station life such as passengers, signage, milk churns from the dairy train era and a roaming cat, plus a mirror effect that creates the illusion of an extended railway line through time. Organisers say it celebrates local railway heritage and community involvement, with the club hoping to encourage people of all ages to take up model making, while station staff describe it as a nostalgic feature for passengers.

Meet Footnote the Dragon - I was gifted this tiny dragon at the end of our production of Guards! Guards! Where I was indeed the Footnote and wore a pink dress with a staff carved with a quill from a hazel poll from our woodland! I normally walk with a crutch so wanted to make it part of the character rather than shuffling or buyibg an expensive colour coordinated crutch!
