THE MANDALA OF UNITY "In Hinduism, the mandala is a geometric design symbolizing the infinite expansion of our universe. Mandalas are often used in meditation to achieve a deep connection of one's mind and spirit to the universe and all that exists within it. I created the Mandala of Unity to promote peace, oneness, and harmony in diversity. By painting this mural in GardenWalk I hope the public will feel a sense of unification within their community no matter their gender, orientation, or color. Together, let's relish the joy of uniting in peace and fellowship!"⠀⠀⠀

"ARTIST BIO - A freelance illustrator and painter from Anaheim, California. His works are highly influenced by his obsession with 90's cartoons and skateboarding culture. His works are all inspired by the juxtaposition of childhood memories and teenage tragedies and finding an illustrative balance in both those things with the abstraction of cartoons.
He is a self taught artist who studied graphic design and fine arts. Working with both traditional and digital mediums. He finds his comfort with a brush and a beer rather than a computer and a cup of coffee. His artist background started as a little boy drawing dinosaurs eating storm troopers and wrestlers jumping off the third rope and later evolved into a career path and an alter ego by the name of The Happy Joy."

3rd version of one of Düsseldorf's oldest murals.

The eye on Hellweg was first painted in 1980 by the local mural group. Due to damage to the wall and the installation of new thermal insulation, this is the third version. With each passing year, the eye has aged considerably." 1980, 1995, and 2010.

Otto Schily, who as a lawyer for the Red Army Faction (RAF) was subjected to surveillance and wiretapping at the time, has now taken on the role himself as Interior Minister and launched the massive wiretapping operation. Fittingly, the mural was unveiled on the 100th anniversary of George Orwell's birth."
