1/3 So here it is, my final Glastonbury comment for 2023 and won’t repeat what I have said in my prior posts. Interested? Look on my timeline. I really love new bands and strive to seek them out but as we were beholden to the BBC coverage on iPlayer it was a very constrained picture. I really want to like Black Country New Road but found the set pretty boring and confusing - perhaps self indulgent - the crowd seemed to love them.

Oh dear. It looks as if The Guardian is either using Photoshop or having an A.I. meltdown. Look at this pic from the top of the article. Kudos to the guy for standing up after an air shark bit him so he could be thinner 😆

Maybe not a smart move when the article is actually focused on being a collection of photos from a recent event.

Congratulations to Danny Mason and all at Reach Lasers on their incredible laser installation at the Arcadia stage at Glastonbury. I’m so happy that my new laser show software Liberation ran flawlessly throughout the 4 day event that featured The Chemical Brothers, Floating Points, Daphni, Dubkasm, Skepta, Skream, and Plastician.

2/2 Bass: Elton John’s Matt Bissonette - very busy but served the song and just sat there in the mix like the badass motherfucker he is. And then the bad tone brigade. Guitar players from Raye and Yusuf Islam / Cat Stevens who, it seemed, were using modeling style devices as opposed to real amps to create a brittle, unpleasant and unconvincing sound. 1/2 Now the dust is settling on Glastonbury, let’s talk about musicians. I mentioned on Saturday a few of my favourites from Friday. The best guitar player during the whole weekend was James Walbourne, who played with The Pretenders. Outstanding tone, licks and always served the song. Drums: Clem Burke from Blondie - fabulous drummer who had been there since the beginning- outstanding playing, feel and tone.
