Hey Elon, how about reviving Archibald Watt's Sky Carriage as mode of luxury transportation? It's just as viable as your Hyperloop idea, and you get to travel in real style, too! Of course, there are still a few wrinkles which need ironed out, but how cool would it be to be able to travel by giant catapult?

It's now been almost a year since the Glasgow tradition of putting cones on statues gained official protection under the UNESCO 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of Intagible Cultural Heritage. You can read about the ancient origins of this tradition on this plaque which we erected to mark this auspicious occasion.
Just been browsing the website of the Haggis Wildlife Foundation which has a brilliant collection of videos narrated by someone that sounds like David Attenborough... Good homework source for Burn's Night?

Today is the 573 anniversary of the Saint Mungo Mile, the world's first mass participation sporting event, which first took place in Glasgow on New Year's Day 1452. Our plaque on High Street tells the story of this historic event.
It seems there's an entire history of Glasgow which no one never knew existed until someone starts putting up plaques about it. And once there are plaques, it must be real, right? This one is by the abandoned railway station in the city's Botanic Gardens, and there are about a dozen similar Glaikit plaques in all at various points around the city.

The story presented in this plaque took quite a bit of research to uncover. It's about Glasgow's most flamboyant billionaire and the forgotten reason why he built the Finnieston Crane.

We believe too many of Glasgow's most interesting historical events are ignored simply because they're not true. When you are GLAIKIT, you don't let a little thing like the truth get in the way of telling a good story!
If you've ever wondered why Glasgow no longer had a cream bun and yun yum district, and why it has a bye-law banning the provision of alcohol to elephants, this helpful plaque by the Maryhill Locks on the Forth and Clyde Canal explains the (completely untrue) story behind it! ๐คฃ
