A few days ago I finished the Mystery Show podcast, having stumbled upon it honestly by searching on “mystery” in my Overcast podcast app.

#BoingBoing thought the episode about the belt buckle was the greatest podcast ever. I thought the one about a pop star spotted with a book was weak, because the extended chat with a call center employee made me uncomfortable. But overall, it’s a great podcast, cancelled unfairly. I’m glad Starlee has landed at HBO Max and at the Election Profit Makers podcast (if she’s still there).

The last episode, hunting down a white whale, taught me a new concept, “maximum morning height.”

A bunch of “old” (2022) episodes of “Heavyweight” podcast showed up in my Overcast playlist recently. I assumed it was one of those flukes where a feed config change causes old episodes to appear new.

But no! They are new to me! They finally released the episodes from their Spotify exclusiveness. There’s some really great stuff in this “season”, happy to finally get to hear it!
