[The Washington Post] Appointee wants to replace White House columns with the ones Trump prefers.
You can never go wrong with architecturally suckling up to #Trump, especially if you are making things fancier, especially if you wait for *him* to be the one to suggest #gilding it.

@Luke The Conclaves were started in 1986 by Rick Glawson and have run every year since, so I guess this is its 40th anniversary year.
There is a five-page profile of Rick in BLAG 07 (https://bl.ag/07), reproduced from Mark Oatis’ 2003 tribute/obituary alongside extra photos from the collection of David Smith.
Pictured is the opening page (right side) with the piece following the profile of Keith Knecht in the magazine's regular 'Meet the Letterheads' column.
Speaking of gold leaf, this artist is at California Conclave gilders society meetup in California and is sharing the experience:

I'm working on my next worldwide events roundup. Please share any late entries for talks, exhibitions, screenings, tours, workshops, and conferences in the wider realms of sign painting, lettering, gilding, calligraphy, and typography.
Boosts appreciated ☺️
To get the (roughly quarterly) roundup delivered to your inbox, join the free BLAG mailing list via https://bl.ag/join.

“This sign looks like shit." — Malcolm Kenyatta.
Is it just me, or does it look like some A3 sheets run off a colour printer and blu-tac'd in place?
It definitely doesn't look like genuine gold leaf, so the "literally gilding" line in this report isn't quite right, but I'm always interested to see signs making headlines:

Got a question about gilding, but were afraid to ask? Or just didn't have anyone that you could ask?
Tomorrow, Saturday, the Society of Gilders is hosting a free, online Q+A, and they are accepting question submissions in advance here:
