Fimmvörðuháls is the name of an area in southern Iceland crossed by one of the country’s most beloved hiking trails. The landscape is incredibly varied and spectacular, featuring stunning waterfalls, volcanic landscapes, snowfields, valleys and mountain ridges.

Radek Dabrowski and his life partner Lorna Hoefler Steffen love to travel. They travel by plane, car, bus and on foot to and through various travel destinations around the world. Chile, Bolivia, United States, Iceland, Italy, Thailand are some examples of the countries they have visited. After several years of photographing on the road with a smartphone, Radek bought a digital system camera in 2021. His first. A different tool, heavier and bigger, with higher image quality. But his working method has remained the same: photographs for his conceptual art projects and impressions of the locations he visits. From the photos, which were taken with the new camera, Radek has chosen to produce them as high quality photo prints. These are available exclusively in the ohoh.store and will be constantly supplemented.

The image on the postcard is a reproduction of a pencil drawing on canvas entitled ‘Fingerprint Drawing’. The dimensions of the work are 154 x 203 cm and it was created by Radek Dabrowski in 2005. In 2020, Radek Dabrowski published the drawing on a postcard under the title ‘Wealth’ and it has been available from the ohoh.store since then.

Radek attended and successfully completed the school of arts Academie Minerva and MFA Painting, Mohr Institute for Advanced Studies and Research in the Arts and Emergent Media, both in Groningen (The Netherlands). His work is conceptual and he often carries it out with paintings. Radek does not limit himself to painting, but uses many other techniques and materials, such as video and photography.

The Last Supper - image: Tim Roeloffs

In Christianity, today is Maundy Thursday, the first day of the Triduum Sacrum (the Holy Three Days), which consists of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. Today marks the commemoration of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ and his 12 disciples.

From newspapers and magazines, Tim Roeloffs cuts and slices pictures and glues them together into a collage, in which a new, fantastic world emerges. After working as a tennis instructor, Tim Roeloffs settled in Berlin in 1992 and joined the artists' initiative Tacheles. After art and culture house Tacheles closed in 2012, Tim has worked in various workshops in Berlin and his work is available at various galleries. Currently, Tim creates his work in a workshop/shop in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg.

DIMENSION plus is a collaborative project by illustrator Anna Mars and photographer Hanna Boussouar. The backgrounds in their postcard designs feature photographs by Hanna Boussouar, whilst the illustrations are by Anna Mars. Today, Anna Mars creates ceramic artworks, and Hanna Boussouar is available to commission as a photographer for portraits, events and still lifes.

This month is our marriage anniversary and I’d thought that I would give shoppers a discount on my markup prices at FineArtAmerica in celebration of the event!

The discount is taken from the money that I would be paid for the sale. For example, if FAA has an item for $11 and I want to be paid something for the sale of that item, I would increase the price of that item by $4. The 25% discount code would be $1 off from the item price. In the world of PODs, it is company price plus artist royalty which equals the customer price.

If you would like to do the math on the discount of any item (other then prints; it’s a different chart starting at $10), I have my markup around 50% of the base price. Let’s look at the discounted purchase price if an item costs $34: $34 times .50 equals $17. $17 times .25 equals $4.25. The discount is $4.25 for that item. Then we take, $34. minus $4.25 equals $29.75. The price you would pay for that item, before taxes and shipping, would be $29.75.

If you are interested in knowing, I have been with my husband since February of 1999. We had spent much time away from each other as he enlisted into the Air Force and left shortly after graduating from High School. A couple of times we had lived separately for two years, and six months at a time, and so many random weeks. My first week on base, I was alone because he was sent to another country!

If you were wondering how do people with no money travel, this was how. We were in the area and took day trips. Me taking up my art was a great way to explore whilst the kids were young. But now we are focused on fixing up our home and do not travel like we used to. Plus civilians do not get time off like the military do! ☹️ I cannot wait until we have enough line of credit to fix up the exterior, because it will be the last of the work and then I know that we will have free time to hike again! (🤞mobility issues.)
