This Is My GlasgowLove the colours and the font on this vintage sign for the Glasgow Sound Centre in the Anderston Centre in Glasgow. It also has the old 041 dialing code for the city, which was replaced with the current 0141 code on the 16th of April 1995.
I love that there's an old brass inlaid sign in front of the former Cooper's grocery store on Great Western Road in Glasgow, but the fact it doesn't line up with the door always rather bugs me. I don't know if it was originally installed like this, or if it's been moved at some point when work was being carried out on the pavement.

A terrazzo threshold with a monogram at the entrance to what is now Wee Paree on Crow Road in Glasgow. I'm presuming the A.C. stands for Andrew Cochrane, whose Cochrane's grocery store chain was founded in the 1880s and had grown to around 100 stores by 1914, shortly after the tenement where this threshold still is was constructed.

les briquesImmortalisé ici il y a quelques années lors d'une visite organisée par @[email protected], ce duo de ghostsigns emblématique et connu des amateurs trône sur Church Street à Stoke Newington. D'un côté un palimpseste mêlant la Westminster Gazette, les allumettes Criterion et les rasoirs Gillette, de l'autre la façade d'une enseigne de réparation de stylos, activité surannée s'il en est. Celle-ci date a priori du milieu des années 20 et est inscrite au patrimoine local, ce qui est très cool. Juillet 2023.

84 Buchanan Street in Glasgow. This is part of a group of Classical commercial buildings constructed around 1835 and designed by Robert Foote, the first architectural mentor of Alexander 'Greek' Thomson.
The ghost sign on it is for the bookbinding and printing firm McCormick and Company, which was founded by John McCormick in 1890 and survived until 2011.
